We understand that weight gain currently is a huge problem worldwide. With the amount of stress that we are dealing with daily our bodies are definitely in FIGHT AND FLIGHT constantly and therefore producing CORTISOL hormone causing weight gain. Cortisol weight gain is very visible. Since abdominal fat also tends to increase cortisol levels, this can lead to a vicious and unhealthy cycle, especially in women. There is little doubt that increased stress and/or cortisol can cause increased abdominal fat and weight gain.
There is a typical Cortisol weight gain. As you can see in the image the areas that weight will collect are:
Rounded face (like taking Cortisone its called a "moon face"
Weight gain in the neck, back or belly
Loss of muscle tone in the upper arms and upper legs
Rounded midrift. Cortisol settles around the waist causing an apple shape
The problem is that if the weight is due to high Cortisol exercising, especially after 50/menopause, will increase the weight around the gut. So now what?! Well you need to help your body to calm the Cortisol hike and help your body to stop storing the visceral fat.

Full body Magnesium body polishing Scrub with Hydrotherapy bath followed by a Cellulite Wrap
(Magnesium Chloride, Epsom Salts, Essential Oils)
Experience a fully body scrub that contains Magnesium which is an essential mineral that helps regulate muscle and nerve function, blood sugar levels, and blood pressure. It also helps make protein, bone, and DNA on top of rejuvenating your entire body through exfoliation of the skin, removing dead skin cells allowing a deeper penetration through the pores to get blood flowing. Magnesium is also essential in the development of collagen in our skin, as it helps to promote new growth naturally.
On top of these benefits the Magnesium calms the skin, supports sleep and relaxation and reduces any irritation to the skin. It is also highly beneficial to those with acne problems for its anti-inflammatory properties, as the clogged and aggravated pores become inflamed. Magnesium also helps manage stress levels by calming the Nervous system and gut microfibre, which is also the route cause for breakouts in some people.
Redness and Rosacea are common for most sensitive skin sufferers. Opting for magnesium-based skincare is wise; using a magnesium scrub all over the body helps to repair damaged skin cells without irritating the skin, compared to that of other exfoliators which have harsh ingredients that irritate sensitive skin types.
Epsom Salts is used to treat a variety of conditions including constipation, low blood magnesium and preeclampsia (high blood pressure in pregnant people). As a soaking solution, magnesium sulphate may treat minor bruises and cuts. Soaking in an Epsom salt bath also helps by soothing sore muscles, promotes relaxation and relieves headaches.
Epsom salt baths help draw out toxins from the body through a process called reverse osmosis. When Epsom salt is added to a hot bath, magnesium and sulphate are broken down and readily absorbed through the skin where they penetrate into the bloodstream detoxifying the body and promoting weight loss. Through this process, Epsom salt pull harmful toxins out of the body through the skin and allow the magnesium and sulphates to enter.
Hydrotherapy is the use of water to relieve pain or discomfort and to promote overall well-being. Hydrotherapy has been around as long as people have taken baths or put wet rags on their foreheads. Sessions will be about 30 minutes long.
Hydrotherapy isn’t a standard treatment for anything. It focuses on relieving broader symptoms, particularly pain, stiffness, and swelling.
Contrast hydrotherapy benefits when using alternating hot and cold water includes a decrease in inflammation and stimulation of circulation and lymphatic drainage. This method has been shown to help people recover quicker from exercise or injury, burn more calories, boost the immune system and potentially help some skin conditions. Soaking in the warm water supports skin and muscular-skeletal conditions.
This treatment also improves blood flow and the circulation of white blood cells around the body. This, in turn, allows lymph, (a fluid containing infection-fighting cells which also collects waste materials) to move through the body effectively. This modulates the immune system, helping to fight infections and other illnesses.
Stress relief has incredible value when treating ailments in the body. Hydrotherapy treats illnesses caused by stress through benefits such as lowering blood pressure, maintaining normal blood sugar levels and improving sleep quality.
Relieves pain and reduces muscle tension
Standing on your feet all day, which we feel more as we age, is eased when we step into water. The weightlessness you feel during a hydrotherapy treatment can increase your movement capabilities, relieve the tension held in the limbs and pressure on joints, as well as providing support for aching muscles. The clear benefit of hydrotherapy is that this stimulates the release of endorphins, the body’s natural pain reliever, further reducing any soreness in the muscles.
Rehabilitation for injuries and conditions
With the use of heated water, blood flow is increased, alleviating pain and improving circulation. This helps heal injured tissues, reduce swelling and support the rehabilitation of injured joints and muscles. Furthermore, it relieves Lower Back Pain, Hypermobility Syndrome, Ankylosing Spondylitis (a type of arthritis that affects the spine and causes inflammation and gradual fusing of the vertebrae). Fibromyalgia syndrome (is a disorder characterized by musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues). Osteoarthritis (Inflammation of one or more joints. It is the most common form of arthritis that affects joints in the hand, spine, knees and hips. Rheumatoid Arthritis (a disease causing inflammation in the joints and resulting in painful deformity and immobility, especially in the fingers, wrists, feet, and ankles). Post fracture/orthopaedic surgery
Hydrotherapy encourages sweating which induces one of the body’s primary detoxification pathways and therefore helps to eliminate toxins. This has been shown to cleanse the body as well lower one’s risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Kigelia (well known for its firming and invigorating properties. It soothes, repairs, and diminishes redness, scars, stretch marks, irritation, itchiness, dryness, and peeling. It prevents blemishes from forming, and it protects against the harsh effects of the elements. It works to reduce age spots, stretch marks, cellulite, and dryness.).
Buchu (This miracle herb is an excellent diuretic, meaning that it aids in the elimination of unwanted substances and toxins such as excess water, cellulite, fat, uric acid, and excess salts from the body. Moreover, the plant can also treat urinary tract infections and kidney infections).
Lemon Oil (All thanks to its vitamin C content and blood circulation boosting properties Lemon Oil reduces cellulite, is a great antioxidant, removes dead skin layers and boosts the production of collagen.
Cayenne Oil (Cayenne heats up the temperature in your body, and is wonderful at spiking your metabolism and digestive fire)
Cellulite is an ongoing problem, mainly in women. Daily, our bodies are filled with toxins, either from a poor diet, lifestyle, genetics or from simply using non-organic skincare which results in our skin cells becoming clogged and congested. This clogging then results in the Infamous “dimple affect” appearing on our legs, buttocks, tummy & arms. By applying Magnesium directly to the skin, the penetration is far more effective by removing dead skin cells, strengthening skin tissue and rejuvenating the skin which results in the reduction and appearance of cellulite.
How does Cellulite form?
Our epidermis (the outer layer of our skin) covers the inner dermis which contains blood vessels, hair follicles, nerve receptors and connective tissue which forms the support and which contains collagen.
Below the connective tissue you find layers of subcutaneous fat and it is here where the problem of cellulite starts.
In females this fat is stacked in vertical chambers which slightly protrude into the dermis and it is these uneven protrusions that cause the well-known dimple effect when the chambers become lengthy and less compliant.
Fat cells in males are stacked in a different configuration, and for this reason, men are not as susceptible to cellulite - coupled to the fact that their epidermis and dermal layers are normally thicker than female's.
Along with problems such as inefficient waste removal from the cells in this region, as well as less than perfect circulation, this would result in an accumulation of wastes, and enlargement of fat cells, which now, with nowhere else to go, will extend to the Dermal Layer, which in turn causes the much feared look of cellulite.
As we age our skin gets thinner, and this makes the cellulite increase . Tone decreases and this loosening of the skin due to collagen being less firm, allows more of the fat cells to push towards the skin surface. In time, our bodies become less efficient in dealing with the removal of waste products and circulation.
You do not need to be overweight to have cellulite - as it is not a weight problem but more an increase in fat cells, waste accumulation and compromised circulation. The process of Cellulite elimination is more about reducing the fat cell chambers in the connective tissue and excreting the excess fat and wastes which have increased over time.
